Shreyas Iyer is an Indian cricketer who was born on December 6, 1994, in Mumbai, India. He is a right-handed batsman and occasional off-spinner who plays for the Indian national cricket team and the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Iyer made his debut for the Indian cricket team in November 2017 in a T20I match against New Zealand. He went on to make his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in December 2017 and played his first Test match against the same opponent in November 2019.
In the IPL, Iyer has been a key player for the Delhi Capitals since 2015, and he was appointed as the captain of the team in 2018. Under his leadership, the Delhi Capitals reached the final of the IPL in 2020, where they finished as the runners-up to the Mumbai Indians.
